The Opportunity (YOUR new job)

Reporting to an accomplished CIO, the IT Operations Manager/Infrastructure Manager will be a hands-on leader and mentor to the IT team and will be responsible for the day-to-day IT function that supports and end user community of around 700 people. This person will be the key contact for the wider business for all things IT and will support the CIO in delivering on the strategic business objectives. As the 2IC for the IT function, this person will be well positioned for continues advancement is the role is ideal for someone on the upward curve in their career.

Some of the other key tasks aligned to this role will include:
•Lead, mentor & develop a team of 4 staff.
•Strategic planning for all communication, data management, networking and infrastructure for the Australian business.
•Provide technical expertise and operational guidance for complex issues and projects.
•Change management support during the delivery of IT transformation initiatives.
•Build strong working relationships with business leaders internally as well as external vendors and third-party suppliers.

About YOU! - (The Successful Applicant/Candidate)

This role would be suited to a ‘hands on’, and technically astute IT Operations Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Lead Systems Engineer ready to make the move into management. You’ll have proven experience at positioning IT as a business enabler throughout the wider business. This person will have a stable and progressive work history that has you looking for an opportunity to grow into your first Head of IT or Head of Infrastructure role.

Applicants coming from a heavy industry background such as manufacturing, engineering, supply chain / logistics or similar would be suited to this role as you understand how IT enables business operations.

Other attributes to your profile will include:
•Will hold formal an IT qualification such as a degree or relevant certification.
•Has proven Leadership experience where your team has supported at least 500 users.
•Gaining your technical skills by working your way through an Infrastructure, Networking, MSP or IT Support route.
•You are ‘hands on’ style, but conversely are able to strategically manage resources to be successful.
•Will have a track record of delivering strategic IT projects and streamlining processes.
